The original
Wilderness Instructor Belt was developed more than 17 years ago and
has been refined ever since, now offering higher quality and more options than
ever. The belt was originally designed to clip into a secure system while "instructing"
others in high places. Produced from specially treated nylon, it's a tremendously
strong belt with a specially designed V-ring buckle that has been treated with
a non-glare black coating.
How strong is it?
In lab testing, the Wilderness Instructor Belt has withstood
anywhere from 5,900 lbs. of static stress to more than 8,000 lbs. of static
stress without failing.
When the Wilderness
Belt was first introduced, customers started experimenting, and discovered that,
in addition to it's Fire and Rescue uses, it also worked great as an everyday
pants belt for casual or outdoor use. Those same folks also discovered
that the Wilderness Belt made a fantastic gun belt for range use and concealed-carry.
Today it is widely used by Fire, Rescue, law enforcement, military special operations,
and shooters all over the world.
What makes the Wilderness
Belt an outstanding gun belt:
- Strength -
A standard belt lacks the strength to support a weapon over a period of
time. It may work initially, but will begin to stretch and sag with continued
use. The Wilderness Belt is extremely strong (It actually has a higher tensile
strength than leather) and is built to withstand the stress of supporting
a weapon day in and day out.
- Comfort - We
found the Wilderness Belt to be thinner and lighter than most double thick
leather gun belts. This makes it extremely comfortable for all day wear.
- Fit - The patented
V-buckle (seen below) uses a unique float bar to slide "lock"
the belt into place. As a result, the fit is much more adjustable than a
traditional leather gun belt.
Why did we choose
Wilderness Belts over similar nylon belt manufacturers:
- Wilderness is continually testing
and evaluating it's products. Not just lab testing mind you, but real life
testing all over the world. As a result, they stay on the cutting edge for
design applications.
- Every Wilderness Belt is produced
by in the U.S.A. at their Phoenix, AZ facility.
- All materials used in the belts
are of the highest quality available. Every seam is multistitched and taped
with nylon binding tape.
- Wilderness strives to create
original designs rather than copy others, and unlike other manufacturers,
they continue to improve existing designs as new ideas and new materials
become available.
- Reputation - For nearly two
decades Wilderness Belts have been the preferred gun belt favorites of the
American Pistol Institute® and Gunsite® personnel, as well as armed
military, intelligence, police and civilian professionals around the world.
- Wilderness Belts come with a
lifetime guarantee against defects in material and workmanship.
Like all
the other products that we represent, Ed and I fully evaluated the Wilderness
Belt before we even considered carrying the product in out store. We found it
to be super comfortable, and make a outstanding gun belt. You may see inferior
or less expensive copies of the Wilderness belt on the market, but Ed and I
firmly believe that, in the end, you'll be much happier with the original.
